Tessa Nagel | Acupuncture Physician

Tessa received her Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from the Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine College in Berkeley, CA. Learning Traditional Chinese Medicine felt like coming home. All parts of the person are considered in treatments which lead to optimal health. There are multiple ways to approach a problem, and just as many solutions. Like the avid puzzler she is, putting the pieces together to help people realize their fullest expression is her goal.

Tessa thrives working with all types of patients dealing with pain, digestive issues, depression, anxiety and other emotional issues. She also feels comfortable with and has experience supporting cancer patients, survivors and those dealing with other chronic illnesses such as ALS and stroke recovery. Tessa is also a proud team member of Operation Warrior Resolution, providing acupuncture at holistic healing veteran retreats.

Tessa uses a variety of healing modalities including flower essence therapy, EFT, Emotion & Body Code, guided visualization and Qi Gong exercises to enhance her acupuncture treatments.

She’s happy to be back in her birth state of Florida, especially this dynamic and special city.

In her free time Tessa enjoys swimming, roller skating, beach days, nature time, comedy, adventures with her dog and exploring all that St. Pete has to offer.

Tessa’s Area’s Of Expertise

Surgery Prep & Recovery

Pre-operative acupuncture improves the overall physical condition, making the body more resilient to surgical stress. It reduces anxiety, improves sleep and boosts the immune system which are all important for faster healing.

Digestive Issues

Acupuncture reduces inflammation, improves circulation, and regulates the digestive function, gut motility and bowel movements. It alleviates symptoms like bloating, constipation, diarrhea, IBS, IBD, acid reflux, nausea and abdominal pain.

Allergies

Acupuncture addresses allergy symptoms (runny nose, sneezing, itchy eyes, nasal congestion) and their underlying immune system imbalances by reducing inflammation and regulating the body’s response to allergens.

Pain Management

Most people experience some kind of musculoskeletal pain, arthritis or injury at some point in their lives. Acupuncture care is an excellent, non-invasive option for relieving a multitude of acute and chronic pain conditions.

Mental Health

Acupuncture benefits mental health, especially depression and anxiety, by impacting the nervous system, promoting endorphins and lowering cortisol which reduces stress, improves sleep and allows a greater sense of relaxation and well-being.
