Ready to become a new patient?

Booking Your Visit

You can either book your appointments online, or you can call or text to get scheduled.

Which type of appointment should a new patient book?

  • New Patient: Acupuncture and/or Dry Needling Initial Evaluation & Treatment
    • Most patients will need to book this appointment type for their first visit.
  • New Patient / Urgent Care or Targeted Dry Needling Appointment
    • Available if you're a new patient dealing with an acute injury or issue that doesn't require a longer intake, but you don't see an Initial Evaluation & Treatment appointment available right away.
    • Not appropriate for more chronic or complex health issues.
    • Dr. Kim has to approve that this type of appointment is appropriate for you.
  • Pelvic Floor Initial Evaluation & Treatment
    • This is for patients specifically seeking pelvic floor dry needling.

Using the Waitlist

Don't see something available as soon as you were hoping for? The waitlist is a great resource to use. Patients move appointments around, and as they do, people on the waitlist get first priority to book those openings.

How it works

  • On the booking site, you can add yourself to the waitlist.
  • Pick the days and/or times you want.
  • Be sure to pick the correct type of appointment.
    • New patients — pick the new patient appointment.
    • Established patients — pick the established patient appointment.
  • When an opening becomes available, our booking system will alert everyone on the waitlist. If it works for you, book it. If it doesn't, you'll remain on the waitlist for other openings.
A great way to be seen sooner

Your First Visit

Let us take the guesswork out of what to expect.

Key information to review prior to your first visit
Please take a few minutes to review this information so you know what to expect, how to prepare, and how to get the most out of your first and follow-up appointments.

Before Your Visit

Forms & Intake

  • Please complete your intake forms 24 hours before your appointment.
  • This allows us to review your intake forms ahead of time and use your appointment time efficiently.
  • Intake forms are found in your patient portal and must be completed online — we don't have a way to print them out.
  • Intake forms must be completed before you arrive for your appointment in order to keep your appointment time.

What to Wear

  • Wear loose and comfortable clothes if possible.
  • Depending on the areas being treated, you may be asked to remove some clothing. You'll be draped with a sheet during the treatment.

Our priority is for you to feel comfortable and at ease.

Eating & Hydration

  • Please have something to eat before your appointment — it's best not to arrive on an empty stomach.
  • Hydrate well before and after your visits.
  • Limit caffeine before your visits.
Arrival & Location

Where to Go

  • We're located at 4163 1st Ave South, at the corner of 42nd Street — right on the corner in a dark blue building.
  • Please arrive on time or a few minutes early. Arriving late does impact the time we have together.
  • Please walk right into the clinic — no need to knock or ring a doorbell.
  • We don't have a receptionist, so please have a seat in the waiting room when you arrive and Dr. Kim will be out to get you.

Parking

  • We have plenty of free parking — 5 spots in the back of the building, or you can park on 1st Ave South or 42nd Street.

Restroom

  • From the waiting room, you'll see a small hallway with three doors. The bathroom is the door to the left.
During Your Visit
  • Your first treatment will include a thorough intake and assessment, as well as a full treatment.
  • We'll discuss your treatment plan during your first visit and your follow-up treatments, making adjustments as we go depending on how you respond.
After Your Visit

It's normal to experience:

  • Temporary soreness and bruising in areas that were treated. Use heat (not ice), and allow yourself to move to help the recovery process.
  • Fatigue — feeling tired or needing more rest is your body's way of helping you recover. Allow your body to get what it needs.
  • Improved sleep, digestion, mood, energy, mental clarity, and more relaxation in your body.
  • It's normal for symptoms to reduce initially and then return after visits — your body is learning a new way of functioning. Make note of how long your improvement lasts, as this helps guide the frequency of your treatments.
  • With each treatment, symptom reduction will last longer.
  • If you have any urgent questions after your treatment, please don't hesitate to reach out. We can also discuss any questions at your next appointment.
For any severe symptoms, please seek medical care immediately

Treatment Plans

For results that last, you'll likely need to see us more than once.

Acupuncture and dry needling work best when they follow a clear plan instead of one-off sessions. Your treatment plan will shift depending on where you are in the healing process and how your body is responding to treatment.

In the beginning, we focus on building momentum and reducing pain and symptoms with more frequent visits. Once symptoms are under control, sessions are spaced further apart to maintain progress and prevent future issues.

While every person is different and results can vary depending on what we're treating, we typically want to start seeing improvements within one to two treatments.

Phase 1

Relief

1–2 visits per week

Depending on what you're experiencing. During this phase, we want to knock your symptoms down and get ahead of them flaring again.

Phase 2

Correct

Weekly or every other week

During this phase we correct any underlying issues or imbalances — unwinding old patterns, reinforcing progress, and helping create lasting results.

Phase 3

Maintain

Monthly, or as needed

Tune-ups focus on maintaining the progress we've made and preventing setbacks, as we work to solidify new patterns.

We're here to make your first visit — and every visit after — feel easy.
